As we progresses through the SELF development process, we can pursue and spread peace by practicing in our lives. Families groups and communities can be motivated to join in exploring real peace and conduct their activities by recognizing and declaring peace as their mission. When a critical number of people and organizations do this and re orient their lives as missionaries for peace, and revamp the activities of their organizations to support peace, peace will spread with amazing speed. We can forecast the spread of peace with confidence because the longing for peace is in everyone, and in every organizational set up. The critical action required is to fire up by creating awareness.
Think of a faith group for instance. I cannot count the number of times the priest says to the worshippers and worshipper says to the priest “Peace is unto you” in a Christian mass. Similar is the situation in a Jewish, Muslim or Hindu worship. Rituals and mutual salutations are full of word ‘Peace’.
Imagine if people are motivated to review their daily activities, and their groups operations and re orient them in order to be true to what they say in the prayers; If their day to day life and relations to others conform to the requirements for peace; If they practice peace and forgive their offenders, and shed hatred; If they join hands and take up a mission to spread peace.
POEM is a forum for such peace loving, mission driven people to work as a team exploring, pursuing, practicing and propagating peace.
